In the sunny swimming pool of Loano there is no rest. During the morning the last qualifying heats for the afternoon finals. Under the pleasant sunlight the last heats took place and from there the names of the last finalists of an exciting performance had come out: in the 50 m Butterfly Gabor (Hungary), favoured for the European Gold Medal, he seems to be the only one to compete, with his 29’75, in the Open competition with the 28’93 of Tan Kai (Hong Kong). We have to underline also the great ninth time of Manauzzi (Italy) that doesn’t go for the final but demonstrates the great job made by his Technical Cavara. Just behind him goes Scafidi, more confident with the Freestyle. The Italian surprise of the day has been the arrival to the final of Kathrin Oberhauser, seventh time in the 50m Backstroke. For the Open final podium, Tang Suk Man is the favourite, while for the laurelled crown it seems to be a hard “Magyar” competition between Dzsenifer Kohon and Viktoria Tapolczai. Unfortunately out of the final Elena D’Odorico. A beautiful competition will also be the 200m Freestyle, with the French Dutter (2'17''43) very close indeed to Lee Tsun Sang (2'17'09). Right behind them the rough race between Juan Chagolla (Mexico) and Marcin Dobrowolski (Poland) that will compete to conquer the third place in the Open. In the 100m Freestlyle women, Silvia Corradin blocks the stopwatch at 1'24''17, tenth time and no final for the girl from Vicenza (Italy) that anyway improves her personal time. For the Open Gold Medal, Chow seems not to have any rivals, while for European Gold Lindberg and Garcia Gutierrez will compete in a real battle. |

The 2010 Open Swimming European Championship hasn’t ended yet, but since now we can define it as a successful and hit event from all points of view. From the technical point of view the two records, World in the Open for the athlete Leung Shu Hang and the European one of the Hungarian relay in the Women 200m Freestlyle. High levelled performances and swimmers more and more prepared are increasing the level of the Inas-Fid events going towards the Global Games 2011, that will still be organized by the winning combination Fisdir-“A.S.D. Sportabilia” and that are already in a frenetic preparation. Very important the presence and cooperation with Inas representatives in Loano. At a Media level, the presence of public and private televisions, newspapers and other media, have permitted to the event to open up the boundaries in order to make explode the movement outside. Of course big relevance have had also the local political and commercial partners that here in Loano had demonstrate a particular cure and attention and had also gave their support in this great event that will end up tomorrow but will, at least, stay in the memory of someone as the first event where the Italian athlete, Marco Scafidi, has presented himself in front of a TV camera to talk about his competitions and his personal sensations. Today we will assist to the last competitions and the Gala Dinner foreseen by the Local Organizing Committee to celebrate together with athletes and staff. Appointment starting form 9.30 am for the qualifying relays and from 4.00 pm for the finals. |

In Loano the show of the Open European Swimming Championship 2010 is reaching its straight line, but since now we can consider it as a media success and especially an event that has witnessed high levelled sport results. Last, in chronological order, the European record of the Women 4x200m Freestyle formed by Dzsenifer Kohon, Viktoria Tapolczai, Nora Kondri, Zsofia Berczi that blocked the stopwatch at 11'49''18. European Silver medal for the Italian girls Oberhauser, Stufano, D’Odorico and Corradin that confirm the same result also in the 4x50m Freestlyle. Following the summary of Day 4 of competition, the Women 50m Breastroke the Italian athletes Oberhauser and Stufano can’t go over the 4th and 5th place, with Berczi (Hungary), Mikova (Czeck Rep.) and Beltran (Spain) who share the final podium. Other relay, other European silver medal for the Italian quartet formed by Berardi, Scafidi, Marzocchi and Manauzzi. In Europe dominates the France of Dutter who is only silver at the Open right after the incredible guys of Hong Kong. Astonishing the 50m Freestyle final won by Marcin Dobrowolski (Poland): his 26''98 is good enough to win the competing Dutter (France, 27''38) and Gabor (Hungary, 27''68). At the end, the Open and European podium will speak European. Great performance in the 400m Freestlyle of the Swedish Lindberg that wins against the Chinese Tu in the Open Competition and the Hugarian Tapolczai in the European. Completes the podium the Czech Mikova and in the Open Tang (Hong Kong). Hong Kong triumphs winning gold, silver and bronze with, in order, Lee, Chan, Yeung in the 200m Backstroke; at the same distance Andras, Deprez and Tomasz are the best Europeans. Misses the medal for a small mistake the Italian Silvia Corradin for the 400 Mixed, the more indicated competition for the “azzurra”. Stand up on the podium: Leung and Diaz de La Vega. The stockpile of medals by Hong Kong is confirmed also in the Women 100m Backstroke , out-matched by Leung (gold), Chow (silver) and Tang (bronze). Among the Europeans, best time for the Hungarian Tapolczai, closely followed by the Swedish Lindberg and by the Belgian De Mot. Best result for the Italian National Team of Marco Peciarolo comes from the 100m Butterfly, where Manauzzi conquer a splendid European silver medal closing the fraction in 1'33''18: for the guy of Hyperion continues, as for all the men selection, a beautiful increase in terms of results and performances. In the 200m Mixed the Hungarian Andras stands up on the podium first of the Europeans, and followed by Blondel (France) and Karlsson (Sweden). |
